I’m sure it’s no longer cool to grouse about the Google Ad stuff at the bottom of the page, but I’m wondering what counter the SDMB kicked off with all the sex related threads so the default ad is “_ **Addicted to online Porn?** _”. And just who decided that all addictions were bad? hmmmm? ---

I was going to make a joke that Google might have us confused with [straightdick.com](http://straightdick.com) but then I found out that really is a site and probably not one I was to have traces of on my computer. Off to format my hard drive… ---

Wow. I was just about to comment on this when it came up, for some strange reason, in the Implausable Movies thread. What an obnoxious site. I’m sick of the “porn addiction” thing. I’m sure there are some people who are addicted. Like people are addicted to the home shopping network, or chapstick, or pretty much anything. But of course porn addiction is worse because porn is BAD :rolleyes: . Furthermore I resent the implication on that site that porn addiction is a male thing…I can be just as addicted to porn as any man, damnnit!!! ---

I’ve already gone to complain to Google about it. At home, I use Firefox and can block the ads, but at work I surf using IE and can’t really do much except ignore them. And even though I’m allowed to use the computer for personal stuff when I’m on break, I’d feel a bit funny having someone walking behind me and reading **ADDICTED TO PORN???** across the bottom of the page I’m on. Doesn’t that go against the Google ad rules somehow? Can the Reader screen what ads are to be allowed on the site? ---

Well, right now I’m getting this one: **We Found Your SS# Online** You’ll never guess who put it there. We’ll give you their number. Hmm. Phone number, or SSN? An eye for an eye? Goofy. I did see those Porn Addiction Ads earlier. I thought “they” had found me and were coming for me. Just for me. No credit card needed!
