Buck is hinting that more resignations are coming down the pike, and the party won’t be happy.
So far, 14 House Republicans have announced that they’re retiring at the end of this Congress and are not seeking any other public office. An additional Republican incumbent – Rep. Jerry Carl – lost his primary when redistricting forced him into the same district as another Republican House member. I personally don’t know why any of them would want to hang around for another ten months of this bullshit when they’ve already got one foot out the door.
fantastical pipe dream
And then the majority flipped to the Democrats and Hakeem Jeffries was elected Speaker of the House. All of the Republican committee chairs were ousted. The House met every day but Sunday for months and passed all of the legislation that’s been languishing for the past year and a half.

Unlikely? Probably, but not so fantastical.
Agreed. Certainly not likely, but not outside of the realm of possibility. And I’m not sure I would have said that a week ago.
I’m sure Buck was on his way out, but there’s no doubt in my mind he timed this specifically to mess with Boebert and the rest of the GOP. This is just further evidence of how fractured the GOP really is. They should really abandon the Republican moniker and just call themselves the MAGA party.
