This kind of thing is one way to deal with losing an election. The Democrat gets clobbered, there isn’t anything like enough evidence for a recount, so the sore losers can pretend that the election wasn’t legitimate. Investigations wouldn’t do any good - they would just claim a cover up.
You’re probably right, but there’s some chance, extremely low or just low, that there were shenanigans. I’m hopeful that some are found, but not optimistic at all.
And it’s worth it to find those shenanigans even if it doesn’t change the race. I agree that there’s almost no chance that Conway can win with an investigation, but if the real result is say, 49-46, I want to know the reason why.
he’s a great American. We’re supposed to vote for the interests of our state and country, not ourselves. Everyone voting for their own personal interest destroys democracy.
Yeah, he’s willing to die of his disease so that someone somewhere can have a very small reduction in their taxes or something! A great American!
Seriously, perhaps he thinks you’re right. His comments don’t sound like it though. I think maybe he regrets his vote. I can’t speak for you, but I wonder if you’d vote for someone who would assure that you lost your health insurance when you have a life-threatening disease too.
There isn’t any evidence of shenanigans. That’s not the point. The point is for the losing side to give itself a reason to think they didn’t lose. All you need for that is the accusation, and that’s been made.
When a Democrat wins an election in which there is no evidence of wrongdoing, and calls for an investigation anyway, then we can talk.
Democratic candidate for governor Jack Conway conceded the governor’s race to Republican Matt Bevin. Can Conway still ask for a recount at this point? Shouldn’t he have registered a protest before he conceded?
Apparently, someone named Brad Friedman is hoping to process a few sour grapes by requesting a recount. Of course, Friedman doesn’t have any standing to actually request a recount.
There’s no evidence that the election was corrupt, therefore we need to investigate. There’s no evidence that the investigation is corrupt, so we need to investigate that. There’s no evidence that the second investigation was corrupt, so we need to investigate that with a third investigation.
How much time and money does Kentucky have to waste?
Okay, he will die early so someone else can have a job! A great American!
You should go tell him how great he is. Go tell thousands of other Kentuckyans that they need to die/be really sick/go bankrupt because we need more jobs!
(And the corresponding jobs that will be lost due to loss of insurance don’t count).
