He was mean to a jive talking lobster, or something. And he jumped down from a shelf and when he did he looked like Nosferatu, according to someone here. (Okay, I have to admit, he did- couldn’t watch the ad with a straight face after the Snuggles thread.) But I still defend the guy. He’s a sweetie. ---

Goofy’s a dog. In the past, he’s also been Pluto’s owner, not to mention, the owner of another, more prissy looking dog as well. Freak. As for Kermit, you can always substitute your sides at Denny’s, so I don’t think it’s all that cruel. Of course, I’m not sure Piggy really finds it heartwarming to see “Ham and Eggs” as an entre on the menu, either. But pigs are less likely to be attacked by a crazy Denny’s chef than Kermit is to be attacked by a crazy French chef. Or Swedish chef working in a French restaraunt. I just want to know why the Jeffersons had to celebrate THEIR anniversary at Denny’s. Damned economy. ---

Ok, I’ve given it a few days and heard the opposing arguments, and they’re rubbish, I say. Throughout her recorded history, any mention of “pork”, “bacon” or “ham” in the presence of Miss Piggy caused an immediate and violent reaction (Hi-YA!). She’s made it plain that the consumption of pork products, even those made out of non-muppet pigs, is a no-no, and yet Kermit still took her to Denny’s. No, Kermit, you are evil (although not as evil as the Snuggle Bear \), and as far as I’m concerned, you should go feltch a frog scout. -lv ---

No, no! Don’t you understand? It’s like that scene in _ **The Graduate** _ where Dustin Hoffman takes his date to the strip club and after he’s in there with her and she freaks out and leaves, he chases after her and apologizes and this sets up the whole relationship for them and they wind up running off together! See, that’s what Kermit’s doing! He’s taken Miss Piggy to someplace she’ll find as disturbing as the strip club and then, when Miss Piggy’s standing there at the altar with Rolf the Dog, Kermit will show up and steal her away! See, it’s going to be a whole “themed” commercial set like those coffee commercials! I’m tellin’ ya, it’s a brilliant concept! (And if it actually comes to pass that way, I’m going to be totally shocked. 😃 ) ---

Yeah, but Kermit is also clearly the victim of domestic abuse. Piggy has been abusing him: both verbally and physically, for years. Kermit’s never gotten his own back, at least not on screen. Perhaps he’s passive agressively attempting a bit of revenge? Although I admit, George taking Weezie to Denny’s for their anniversary is too much.
