Funny, you put the libel in liberal.
Oh, this can’t be true. Kerry is the saint who is going to save us all.
I can’t believe people gather up the energy to be angry or even INTERESTED in this stupid crap.
What should we be interested in ?

Are you joking? What could be less fucking relevant to the campaign than this bullshit about subcontractors maybe stiffing an airport over a catering fee? How is this even worth discussing?
Cause its a cascading thread thats taken a life of its own. People post , others reply , thats what makes it relevant , otherwise it would have died about 7 hours ago.
Like it or not , the campaign in my opinion has been lack luster anyways , we are going into the dog days of august and the good stuff probably wont start happening until the end of september , so its man bites dog
Meh , its been a slow day news wise.

Wait. Now people are taking to task the press or pundits “policital hacks” or whoever?
As best I can tell, this thing has been reported in exactly one place – the Cape Cod Times. Perhaps it was a slow news day for them, but they’re the Cape Cod Times – every day is a slow news day. “Locals Avoid Beaches as Tourists Swarm.” “Big Bluefish Caught by Long-Time Fisherman.” “Zoning Board Refuses Changes to Approved Shutter Colors.” To those guys, a commercial dispute between a local businessman and a bigshot is big news, especially if they can claim to have a part in resolving the dispute (which is BS in 99% of occasions – “After Channel 7 actually called the complaint number, which the boneheaded 'aggrieved customer couldn’t be bothered to do before calling Channel 7, the company refunded the money.”). So you can hardly get mad at them.
A Google News search doesn’t show the story anyplace else, and I haven’t seen it in my (admittedly small) slice of the blogosphere. Did I miss someplace (besides here) that this is even being mentioned?
From what I’ve heard, Kerry is a real asshole. Even his Secret Service detail has complained about him:
Drudge:
More on that at SNOPES: http://www.snopes.com/politics/kerry/cussword.asp
again, just an anecdote but…
Well, I suppose if you can’t find any thing substantive to criticize a candidate for you need to fall back on horse shit. Thus, Senator Kerry’s catering contractor’s subcontractor is in a fee dispute with a one horse airport – Kerry is unqualified for high office. Thus, Senator Kerry is short with his Secret Service detail – Kerry is unsuited for high office. President Bush stuck cherry bombs in frogs as a youth – Bush is unsuited for high office. President Bush dragged our country into an unnecessary war by misrepresentations and half-truths – Bush is … hold on here, we may have just fallen into substance.
this is fucking bullshit. pointless smear attempt bullshit.
Call me when the election is over, and we can get back to normal discussions on these boards.
Putting aside the trustworthiness of anything Matt Drudge cooks up, the quoted examples only show me that Kerry still has a long way to go before he reaches Dick-Cheney-levels of assholery.
Like you said, perhaps it doesn’t matter, but as far as trustworthiness is concerned, I did include a link to snopes.
Can I get a ciet on that?
From what I’ve read over the years, the Secret Service tend to be real tight lipped about the people they are assigned to. A point of honor among them, it seems. I reallt doubt any agent said anything about Kerry, or anybody else they were guarding.
Besides, your link says nothing about that. Only about what Kerry said.
And it contains this:
Now I don’t know one way or the other, but I have used that term in a n affectionate and playful manner. I do it all the freakin’ time.
And while you’re looking for that ceit, can you get me cite, too? That be more helpful.

Oh, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Kerry cusses. That’d just put him, what, on par with 98% of the American populace?
I just find the notion of “Kerry says bad words! He’s a naughty man!” to be a silly one. It’s right up there with “Don’t vote for Kerry because he exhales carbon dioxide!” or somesuch.
Um, I read the Snopes article, and didn’t see anything about Kerry being rude to an airport employee.
I don’t give a shit if Kerry is “nice”. “Nice” does not equal a good leader, not always. Hell, Ronald Reagan was a really “nice” guy, and yet I think he was a horrible president.
If he can do his job, I’ll vote for him.
Jesus, talk about petty. So he swears. So what? Bush called that one reporter an asshole. Does that mean people shouldn’t have voted for him? Based solely on that, no.
The thing with the SS guy is rather lame. I’ve said worse things than that to my best friends or relatives. If I got T-boned by a buddy while I was snow boarding I’d call him a fucker or worse, I’m sure. That’s just a guy thing. They cuss each other constantly.
Then there’s the thing about berating an airport employee. Well, maybe in some alternate universe airports offer pleasant, low stress, frustration free environments but in the world I live in, it’s rare to get through the entire experience of flying without feeling the urge to take a human life at least once. “Do you know who I am?” sounds arrogant, to be sure, but who among us would not play the US Senator card in an airport were it available to us? I sure would.
I also read something once about JFK mistakenly eating someone else’s pizza. I’ve done that too, except it wasn’t a mistake, it was more like straight up theft (roommate should have known better).
I’m sure that there have been occasions where JFK was legitimately a dick to somebody which would mean that he’s completely unlike Jesus and more like the rest of humanity. Jesus isn’t a candidate in this election, though…
I appreciate your making that point because it is a point I’ve often made: rights in America accrue to those with the greatest political clout.
And the greatest political clout accrues to those with the most wealth. Rights flow from property. Crap, we’re living in Libertopia!
Except for one little detail. In America, you can accumulate your wealth by taking it from others against their will. Just call your gang the IRS.
