Khadaji’s Whatcha Reading Thread - July 2022 edition

Well, The Romans in Scotland was somewhat interesting overall but definitely needed better maps. If anyone’s interested, he comes up with a site not far from Perth just south of Moncrieffe Hill for the battle.

The Crowley book, Flint and Mirror, also went done; I ended up liking it a lot. The time covered is the Nine Years War in Ireland as the English forces finally defeat an Irish attempt to regain control of the country.

And now I’m reading something much lighter than either of these books, The Rosetta Man by Claire McCague. A very special pest control expert is called in to a top secret project to communicate with two aliens who have just landed on Earth. Lots of cliches but good fun!.

Finished See What I’m Saying: The Extraordinary Powers of Our Five Senses, by Lawrence D. Rosenblum, which was interesting.

Now I’m reading The Shadow of the Empire by Qiu Xiaolong.

I finished What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher aaaaaaand yeah that was Ursula all the way. I do have to say I enjoyed it more than I did Mexican Gothic. I’m a bit sad that all the science stuff she hinted at in the Afterword didn’t get into the book, but I understand her reasoning.

New thread: Is it autumn yet?
