Currently re-reading two books when I picked up thrift store copies.

_Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why_ by Bart Ehrman; an excellent book on textual criticism of the New Testament.

_What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions_ by Randall Munroe; the tenth anniversary edition which has some additional material.

Finished _The Vixen War Bride_, by Thomas J. Doscher, which was okay, and _Tomboy Bride: One Woman’s Personal Account of Life in the Mining Camps of the West_, by Harriet Fish Backus, which was interesting.

Next up: _Totalitopia Plus…_, a story collection by John Crowley; and **Holdouts** , by Thomas J. Doscher, which is the sequel to _Vixen War Bride_.

Finished _Platform Decay_ by Martha Wells. I liked it a lot, would have liked more ART but Murderbot having to cope with children was well worth the price of admission.

**The Echoing Universe** Emma Chapman

The story of radio and radar astronomy, starting with probing the moon and working outward through the solar system and on to distant galaxies.

Although it was written for the broadest possible audience (at least twice she explains that a hydrogen atom consists of one proton and one electron) I found it interesting and worthwhile.

Finished it. It was OK but not great.

Now I’m reading _Yorktown 1781_ by Brendan Morrissey, one of the excellent Osprey short military histories, about the last major campaign of the American Revolution. There’s more nitty-gritty about the organization and structure of the American, French and British armies than I’ve seen elsewhere. Good stuff.

Finished _Totalitopia Plus…_, a story/essay collection by John Crowley. Not recommended. Also finished **Holdouts** , by Thomas J. Doscher, which is the sequel to _Vixen War Bride_. It was a little better than the first book.

Next: _Close Encounters with Humankind: A Paleoanthropologist Investigates Our Evolving Species_, by Sang-Hee Lee with Shin-Young Yoon; and _Children of Promise: African-American Literature and Art for Young People_, edited by Charles Sullivan.
