Just started Yellowface by R.F. Kuang.
A struggling author witnesses her best-selling-author friend die, then steals the just-completed manuscript of the recently deceased and submits it as her own. I’ve read the first two chapters and am thoroughly enjoying it thus far.
I just finished Cugel’s Saga (a month later - I did mention I’m a slow reader). Actually - I did briefly put Cugel on pause to finish Time Out of Joint by Philip K. Dick, which I had started probably 6 months ago. I recommend both - “classics” for a reason.
Next up I need to finish reading the July-August edition of Asimov’s Science Fiction, since the September-October edition just landed in my mailbox. I just realized I’m essentially alternating reading 50-100 year old science fiction, and then hot-off-the-press new science fiction when the new magazine comes out.
