Elanor of Aquitaine, check out the 1990s film of Cold Comfort Farm. I find it encapsulates the feel of the book very well, and is a bit easier for a modern audience to swallow. Features a young Kate Beckinsale as Flora before she got all Hollywood-skanky.

I have it in my Netflix queue now. I watched it several years ago, and I liked it, but didn’t realize it was a deliberate parody. I just thought it was bizarre.

But while I was reading I was certainly picturing Rufus Sewell mollocking and Ian McKellen quivering.
