Khadaji's Whatcha Readin' Thread - March 2016 Edition

I was scared off of David Mitchell for a long time because of reviews calling him so conceptual, brilliant, groundbreaking, etc. I figured I wouldn’t be smart enough to appreciate the work of this literary genius. Maybe they should lay off that stuff and just say, “The man writes a mighty nice book.”

I still have The Bone Clocks to look forward to.

You should try Cloud Atlas, if you haven’t already. Absolute dynamite all the way through.

I did, and liked it very much.

Tomorrow I plan to start on a non-fiction book, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed.

Agreed, and I liked the movie, too.

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, by Yuval Noah Harari. So far it’s fascinating – comparing the different varieties of humans that existed simultaneously for hundreds of thousands of years – Neanderthal, Homo Erectus, Denisovans, Sapiens, and more, and discussing why we’re the only ones left.

I finished Saving Fish from Drowning by Amy Tan today. My Gods that book was a turkey. Those of you getting updates from Goodreads will probably want to skip the next one

I read that not too long ago. An anthropology overview at the gallop, and quite interesting, I thought.

April thread?
