Why is Kindle the wrong format?
It’s both text and pictures and the kindle made it feel… less good than I imagine it would be on paper. Very precise, huh?
Ahhh gotcha. Okay, I will get a print copy if I decide to read it.
Now I’m doubting myself. I thought as I was reading it that I wished I had it in paper. And when I saw on Goodreads that the book has lots of pages, I thought that would be a better experience than on the kindle where it felt more compressed. But I haven’t seen it in paper, so I am JUST MAKING STUFF UP DON’T TRUST MEEEEE!
Nah, I prefer print if possible anyway. And I’d rather trust a friend’s gut feeling.
A paper version is in my TBR pile, so I’ll come along and validate you one of these days.
I just got The Stone Sky, the conclusion to NK Jemisin’s latest trilogy. The story is dark as hell, and not in a sexy game of thrones way; it’s like Jemisin started with the question of, “How can I make cultists bringing about the apocalypse into sympathetic protagonists?” and worked from there. It’s sooooo good.
I think she’s amazing, though she’s not a popcorn read at all and, well, I’m having a popcorn year.
Finished Troubleshooting Your Novel: Essential Techniques for Identifying and Solving Manuscript Problems, by Steven James. It will be useful if I ever get around to finishing the novel I’m working on.
Now I’m reading* Empire of Ivory*, the fourth book in Naomi Novik’s Temeraire series.
I finished The Furthest Station byBen Aaronovitch last night. Grrlbrarian had loaned it to me on Kindle…but I got distracted and didn’t get it read before it expired. My apologies!
I am curious about the American print of this, Amazon says 144 pages, I bought the English printing, because it was half the price, and it’s only 118 pages with a huge font…
New thread?
Oh damn… hang on a sec.
