I almost voted for Delaware for the reasons mentioned above. It came to mind first as the state that would be funny to kick out. But thinking more about it, what would do the most good for the country and for the people of the state, I think Florida really is the correct answer. ---

The reason I chose Texas is because of the way they have screwed up the entire school textbook industry. I think it is Texas that is considering a law banning any teaching that encourages critical thinking. And that says it all about Texas, as far as I am concerned. ---

Nebraska. Purely because I’d be amused to create an independent country as fully surrounded as possible by the rest of us. Kansas or the like would be fine too, for that experiment. I know such enclaves exist already (the Vatican, the Kingdom of Lesotho…), but a foreign country in the heart of the USA should create completely different issues from the Vatican being embedded in Italy. ---

Texas because they are consistently an embarrassment to your union, from death sentences to inaccurate textbooks! Then you strike up some bilateral arrangements; Yes, you can own 15 guns, _in Texas_! Yes, you can ‘Stand Your Ground’, _in Texas_! Yes, you can teach only creationism, _in Texas_! It’d be an awesome refuse heap for the like minded, thereby improving every state, all at once. ---
