I was thinking of creating a general Kickstarter/crowdfunding recommendation thread. I want to post it in MPSIMS because the project could be anything (film, game, tech product) and this would be a catchall. However, topic-wise it probably belongs in Marketplace because it is a type of donation/selling product. I don’t want in Marketplace because of the low traffic. I’m interested in finding interesting projects recommended by Dopers that I would otherwise miss, and for that I would rather use MPSIMS. Which forum would be most appropriate? ---

Clarify the intent of your proposed thread: to list websites that do crowdfunding (whatever that is)? A kind of “hey, here’s a list of these types of things, as a reference. Add any you know about.”? ---

The intent is to have an ongoing thread to learn about different projects that are raising money. There have been a couple of threads about specific projects or about crowdfunding, but there hasn’t been an all purpose recommendation thread that would allow people to share smaller projects that don’t warrant a whole thread to themselves. [Kickstarter](http://www.kickstarter.com/) is currently the most popular website but there is also[Rockethub](http://www.rockethub.com/), [IndieGoGo](http://www.indiegogo.com/) and more. I am not asking for money, nor do I have a project at one of these websites. I just want to learn what projects other Dopers find interesting and maybe share some things I find as well, even some of the finished projects such as [Road to Enlightenment](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/177499259/road-to-enlightenment?ref=live) (it will be finished in 5 hours). ---

Put it in IMHO. You’re asking for their opinions on good sites for crowdfunding.
