# Kids in religious schools more sheltered?

On the other hand, I’m 49, went to Catholic grade and high schools, hung out with priests all the time (as did many of my friends). Back in the Sixties and early Seventies, we boys had priests throwing a football around the schoolyard with us or playing stickball with us, and none of us ever heard even an ugly rumor of anything improper happening.

Can I swear to you that nothing untoward ever went on? Of course not. MAYBE I was just lucky (or maybe I just wan’t that cute)… but you’re way off if you think pederasty was so common that EVERY Catholic has had some direct (or even indirect) experience with it.
