The wind turbines are interesting, but they are so much a part of the landscape here that I hardly think about them anymore. To answer your question about how they are put together, they use cranes. If you’re ever back in the area there are places where you can take tours and learn more about them. It’s really cool to see the blades up close. They’re huge!
I actually live six miles from Walnut Grove, RachelChristine. The annual Laura Ingalls Wilder pageant that they put on each summer is now in its second week. I’ve never been to DeSmet but would love to make the trip sometime. If our vacation plans for next week fall through, we are considering just staying home and taking some day trips. Maybe we will have to head over to DeSmet.
