# Kindle 2 Price Drop

The Amazon Kindle 2 is now $300, down from $360. I’m curious to know if this will trigger any Dopers who’ve been holding out to buy one. I know that it’s slightly more appealing to me now. I’ve been considering getting an ereader for months, but I think despite this price cut I’ll still wait. I just feel like I can’t justify $300 for this type of device, despite the benefit of freeing up space on my overstuffed bookshelves.

I bought one as a gift for my mom just a few days before the price drop was announced. I was pleased to find out that they refunded me the $60! If I had been unsure whether or not to buy the gift, the price drop certainly would’ve pushed me over the edge. I’m very excited to give it to her.
