King Crimson and...gay audience?

Those have always been preferred Crimson venues - not a stadium. The two times I’ve seen them were in swanky venues.

The two times I saw them, they were at Pier 84.

Does it have a capacity of more than 5,000?
I ask because I can’t even start to imagine the vast majority of venues on a KC tour holding more than that, completely ruling out the stadium option. “Rock clubs”, sure, stadia - uh-uh.

I’m not a nerd. Good night, nurse.

I am! So, I’m not insulting Crimso fans!

Obviously, all kinds of people like all kinds of acts. But one EXPECTS a big gay crowd at a Liza Minelli concert. One EXPECTS a big lesbian crowd at Lilith Fest. One EXPECTS a very white, largely male, rather nerdy crowd at prog rock shows.

That doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t occasionally find a straight, macho black male or a gorgeous, feminine hetero Mexican woman at any of those shows.

Hey I was at one of those shows (‘82?). The Alley Cats opened. Much fun!

As a point of reference, here are a couple of recent audiences (photos by Tony Levin):
Austin
Newark

Yeah, being a young, female Rush fan is interesting (we have at least one other, rushgeekgirl) in the sense of the vacant stares from your peers when you talk about your favorite bands. Never been to a concert, though. Considering a lot of my friends are middle aged nerd men, I’d probably feel right at home.

Hijack- did I just hear “21st Century Schizoid Man” in an XBox commercial???

I guess Fripp is retiring soon- commercials and a nostalgia tour sound like he’s getting one last payday before packing it in.
