I voted “other”. _Mighty Joe Young_ might not be King Kong but Charlize Theron is better than Wray, Lange, or Watts (or Terry Moore). ---

At a bare minimum, Kong killed dozens of people, some of whom he ate alive. I don’t recall Joe killing anybody, and if he did it was in self-defense. The Fay Wray version suffers badly from that periods attitudes towards women. Even the idea that a single, unmarried woman would take an ocean cruise unescorted was pretty daring for 1933. Naturally women are portrayed as helpless fragile creatures that must be protected by virile young men. 😉 It must be a huge shock for people watching this movie today. Dracula and The Mummy suffers the same problem. In Dracula the adult woman is locked in her room like a child because she’s not listening to the men. Times have sure changed. Still, I love the Fay Wray version. Her interaction with the ape is by far the best. Have you seen the uncensored version where the ape strips her dress off? Wild stuff for 1933. Then Fay has a brief topless scene while swimming (after she falls in the river). ---

I haven’t seen the modern version of the Mummy. They may have left the old female stereotypes in the story. I wouldn’t be surprised. The best part of Fay Wray’s performance is her independent streak. That character was years ahead of its time. ---

Which of course is NOTHING compared to the Maureen O’Hara skinny dipping scene in TARZAN & HIS MATE. Yes, I know it was a body double. But nobody remembers the body double’s name, so I have decided to believe that she was in fact hight Maureen O’Hara as well. ---

Did you see Sin City? Yes, I saw _Sin City_. That movie, in fact, is my cite for her lack of hotness. I’m not saying she’s ugly; she just doesn’t do it for me. But I don’t think Halle Berry is hot either, so clearly I’m an odd duck.
