It all boils down to this. The rocking rave-up vs. the poignant ballad. Which side of Ray will take it all? Maybe we’ll deadlock and the superdelegates will hand it to “Destroyer”. Voting is open until 5 pm PDT Monday May 5. You Really Got Me vs. Waterloo Sunset ---

You Really Got Me WS is a better song, IMHO, but YRGM was sooo influential; one could argue that both metal and punk trace their roots to this song. ---

Hope I’m in time! ‘You really got me’ is great, but I used to work near Waterloo and have actually seen sunsets 🆒 there so… **Waterloo Sunset** ---

And in a 12-5 landslide, the winner is You Really Got Me Thanks to everyone for playing. ---

I was _really_ surprised by this round. If you’d asked me before the game started to guess what song would win in the end, I’d have said “Waterloo Sunset.” What a trouncing! Thanks very much for the game! [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/kinks-madness-championship-finals/447832.md?page=2)
