He’s a cat, and he’s a hopper, and you’ve not considered the name Tigger? Why? You could also call him Tobias. ---

Congrats, **Amaranta**. That be some cuuuuuuuuute kitten! Looks just like my first beloved kitty, whom I named **Nermal** , after Garfield’s cousin “the world’s cutest kitten” Yes, Nermal; has a certain ring, no? As a slight hijack, I have a silver Persian, who I call Smooshy, because of her, ya know, smooshy Persian face. Her name is really Sassafras, but I never call her that. She’s just Smooshy. ---

From George Gamow’s [Mr Tompkins stories](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Gamow#Books). Tompkins would be a good name for a cat. Mr. Tompkins is always falling asleep during scientific lectures and having dreams about physics, and your cat will probably sleep 18 hours a day or so. He might even dream about physics, for all we know. ---
