Some polling Qs about this phenomenon:

1. What do you call the repetitive, pleasurable toe-curling or flexing that at least some people do when they’re happy and relaxed?

2. Do you find you do this?

3. …ambidextrously?

4. …simultaneous flexing, or alternating?
My answers: 1) I haven’t referred to it, 'cause I don’t know what to call it, and the whole subject is vaguely embarrassing anyway; 2) yes, often; 3) yes; 4) alternating.

1. I call it irritating. There’s something about the sound socks make when someone does this that puts me on edge and makes me want to ask them to stop.

No idea, never tried it. For me, the missing part of the analogy in the title is rocking in a chair, or petting the cat who is kneading my belly.
