The Cub wants to play Knights of the Old Republic on his Mac, but got an error message that it’s only available for PC. But the wiki article on the game suggests it’s available for Mac? Any thoughts? ---

What platform did you buy it from or are playing it on? [Steam suggests](https://store.steampowered.com/app/32370/STAR_WARS__Knights_of_the_Old_Republic/) that they have a Mac version and generally buying through Steam grants you access to both PC and Mac versions (if both exist) Edit: It also seems available through the [Mac App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/star-wars-kotor/id416608891?mt=12) if you want to be really sure. ---

The original (2003) version doesn’t run on current Windows machines as far as I know, so I would be surprised if it would run on current Mac systems. Is the version they have the 2003 original, or an updated one made to be playable on current systems? GOG has it, in a version that will run on current Windows systems, but they don’t seem to have a Mac version. Back when I first updated my gaming computer to Windows 7, I made a dual boot partition that would boot to Windows XP just for playing KotOR. ---

I’ll just reiterate. [Buy it here from Steam.](https://store.steampowered.com/app/32370/STAR_WARS__Knights_of_the_Old_Republic/) It runs on Apple computers according to them. If not, you can refund. Just let them know the problem and they should refund your money. ---

Thanks for the suggestions, but the Cub has told me I’m askigng about the wrong game. He wants to play: “Star Wars the Old Republic”, not “Knights of the Old Republic.” Is SWTOR (I’m learning the lingo) possible on a Mac? or a Switch? ---

I think he means the Star Wars the Old Republic MMO. As far as I know they never released a Mac Client for it. I ran it back in the day when I had an Intel based mac and did a dual boot system with a windows partition, but I don’t believe you can do that anymore. ---

I played for several years, after it went F2P (mostly), and the game was better than most, but if you were F2P you were in for some grinding to unlock the better QoL improvements. 🙂 ---

If it’s an M1 Mac, easy enough to install Parallels and run windows that way. My MacBook Air runs a number of Windows games quite playably.
