# Kris Kross guy dead, and it's creepy (for me)

I was driving home today from running some errands, and Kris Kross’s “Jump” was on the 90s channel on Sirius XM.
I thought about one hit wonders and said aloud, “I wonder if these guys are dead.”
A few hours later, Chris Kelly, of Kris Kross, was found dead.

Weird, in my head they were considerably older then me. I guess I was young enough at the time that even people in their mid-teens seemed “old”, and I never really thought about them again to realize it would only be a difference of a couple years.
Ah well, too bad he’s passed in any case. I remember that song being everywhere for a bit.

Yes the K’s clued me in, but since I have no idea who said person is, I instead thought of Christopher Cross (cheesy MOR crooner) and even Chris Cross, Ultravox bassist.

The guy peaked when he was 12. He probably didn’t have much left to contribute to society anyway.

Sort of along the lines of the OP, sometimes I’ll be talking about a famous person, and someone will wonder if the person is still alive or not. If the person is indeed alive, I’ll say so, but then I’ll qualify it by saying, “unless he died in the last few hours and we just haven’t heard about it yet.” So far there haven’t been any of these deaths. The last one was Wilford Brimley last Friday, and as far as I know, he’s still living.

ERMGAHD half of my former self is now dead. Whoo-hoo!
Explination: My first name is Christina. I married (and then divorced) a guy with the last name of Cross. Thus my name for 4 years was Chris Cross. Jump Jump got old reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal quick. Could not wait to take my maiden name back fast enough.
