Kubrick's 'The Shining' "documentary" 'Room 237' *spoilers*

Kubrick had an IQ of 200 my fat ass …

What a waste of film and pile of stinking shit.

Any claims of an I.Q. being 200 are wrong. Among other things, it’s suspicious that someone is claiming a number that’s a round number. In any case, depending on which of the common I.Q. tests is being talked about (those with a 15-point standard deviation or a 16-point deviation), an I.Q. of 200 or above should occur once in 76 billion times (i.e., one or two people in the entire history of the world) or once in 4 billion times (i.e., one or two people in the entire population of the world today):

AWESOME!!!

I can now contribute straight from the director!

I asked the director 2 questions today in his Ask Me Anything and he answered. I will gladly share them with you now. I’ll quote box the whole thing.

Cool stuff - thanks!

The creepy twin girls are all growed up - The Shining was their only movie role: Here's What 'The Shining' Twins Look Like Now | HuffPost Entertainment

Thanks, leave it to me to basically thread kill a thread with an actual post from the director of the movie we are discussing!

I meant to respond to your post at the time but I forgot. So…cool, thanks for posting that.

I watched about half the film on Netflix before the crazy talk put me to sleep. The oddity that sticks in my mind tonite was the crushed red VW Beetle. One of the Conspiracy Theorists in the movie explained it as an announcement that Kubrick would not be following Stephen King’s ending. I have no idea if that interpretation is correct, but if King really did have the family drive a red Beetle --changed to yellow in the movie version-- it was an interesting touch from Kubrick.

Number 3 in this article is about Danny Lloyd, who played Danny in The Shining, who had no idea what was going on in the movie and remembers that in his time off the set he would play and eat with the twins:

Bumped.

Check out the airliner’s carpeting at 1:43 here (a great song and a great video, BTW):
