A mix of traditionalism and a lack of desire for additional obligations kept many women from supporting the 19th. From other sources online, I’ve read that many women feared they would be drafted in case of war, either to fight or as a conscripted labor force. ---

I like the Marquis de Sade’s idea better, anyway: State brothels where **all** women must serve at one time or another. Men too, why not. Think of it as like jury duty. 😃 ---
