BTW, I always thought that the cop/donut-shop connection was for purely practical reasons: if you’re out on the streets and you want a place to take a quick break and/or fill out paperwork, a donut shop is a decent choice. You can stay as short or as long as you want, you seat yourself, and they have quick snacks like donuts and coffee without waiting for a waiter. And, as mentioned earlier, they’re often open all night. And **Kyle Rayner1** , I completely agree with you. All we need is a dedicated and selfless multi-billionaire with superhuman strength and technology from 20 years in the future, and our city will be safe from marauding gangs of armed penguins. Uh, my dad was cop, was yours? Didnt thinks so. I hang out with sopc s every fucking year so when I say a vigilante would help I’m serious. Maybe you don’t care about people being hurt but I do. ---

Perhaps Kyle is attempting to say that ‘vigilanteism,’ in the classic sense (from the latin vigils, those who watch (or something like that)) is a good idea. Community self-policing and what not. The neighborhood watch is an old, but tried and true method which not only brings together communities (especially in the inner city) but forces the criminal element to the fringe and hopefully out. Kyle, I’m a cop and I’ve got an eighteen minute three mile. Kiss my ass. ---
