“I Can’t Get It Out Of My Head” Is that the most fucking appropriatly titled song ever? I think so. I heard it today, several hours ago. This is not unusual, as I hear it, and many other songs as well, several times per week. But no, this one isn’t like other songs. I can’t get it out of my head. I’ve been through this before; I know what’s going to happen. I’ll be hearing this song in my head for the next couple days. It’s already ruined the part of today after which I heard it. This happens every time. I hate it so much that once it finally does leave my head, I can’t even remember how it goes. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss. I’m not the only one, either. My roommate was in the room at the time (poor soul!), and will be hearing it for at least the next today. My other apartmentmates, and my other friends, suffer from the same affliction. And now the bastard is singing it out loud. Would any jury in the world convict me if I killed him? I doubt it; it’s a mercy killing at this point. I wouldn’t mind so much if I could see the video. She’s hot, and even if the sound is on, I don’t hear the song. But with no video, I’m totally fucked. So, Ms. Minogue, I would like to say this to you: Enjoy your fame, your fans, and your royalty checks. _Sic transit gloria mundi_. One year from now, you will have disappeared from the American airwaves. You have no staying power, because your only talent is annoying me. Fuck, I wish I could come up with some eloquent denouncement of you and the hellspawn you’ve produced. But I can’t, because your damn song is preventing me from concentrating! Gah, I hate this shit. Somebody make it stop. ---

She did disappear for awhile (at least over here) after she outgrew her Debbie-Gibson-wannabe persona back in the '80s. She had several failed affairs, tried her hand and being an “indie” recording artist, and attempted several other combacks without success. She remakes herself into a “disco diva”, and _wham_ – she’s baaaaaack… I personally can’t stand the song. I tried listening to it once in the car and nearly tore the radio out! ---

Okay, I’m officially frightened. You must’ve sent your hatred for that particular song through the air in brainwaves or something, 'cause I was thinking about it today without having heard it in weeks. Yes, randomly thinking of THAT song. What the hell? Why would I just randomly think of a shitty Kylie Minogue (redundant, I know) song? And the video, which I’ve seen a couple times. I’m not particularly attracted to her, but if you like barely-clad Kylie dancing around stupidly, you’ll like it. And stupid back-up dancers. Who the hell choreographed? Come to think of it, who was the freaking costume designer on that nightmare? Oy. ---

In your eyes, and in your head, and in your brain, and in every single pore of your body, harder to get rid of than last night’s garlic… Luckily I like both songs. I feel like the luckiest person alive right now. I have no idea who this person is, if I have heard any of her songs I have no recollection of them. I am completely and utterly clueless. I don’t listen to the radio (except for the Classical station, when it comes in). I have eclectic and unusual musical tastes, and this person (whoever she is) is not among my tastes, apparently. Well, carry on with your expressions of torment about her. And envy me my oblivious ignorance! 😃 ---
