Ok, it’s 1:00 am friday morning. My entire weekend depends on this paycheck being in on time. I hope you can see why I am a bit nervous. Anyway, in the rare event it doesnt come, heads will roll and entire city blocks may be levelled, causing the deaths of many innocents, just because the state didnt get their shit in on time. I didnt hear any word of delay, so i guess everything is A-OK. I’ll know by 12:00. Anyway, i cant wait. I just hope my worst fears dont come true. If so, I may be crying for several days :). ---

Hi guys, Since I’ve never been to anything like this----- Are we in one room? Is it like a cocktail party? Ya know–standing around drink in hand yammering away at each other? All sitting at tables? Or everyone just scattered throughout the place? Will there be a “checkin” with name tags and stuff? As it stands—I’m going early with a couple friends and eating. Trust me; there’s no way that you want me drinking on an empty stomach. LOL. (asleep under the table face down in the guacamole etc.!) I count 16 plus guests? ---

It looks like I’m gonna have to miss this one (but a big thanks to Shayna and Mercutio for letting me know about it - I hadn’t seen the thread). My life has recently become a lot more high maintainence - my wife is pregnant now, and its been a rough trimester. I’ve been trying to get everything caught up so I could go play at the 'fest, but its not working out for me. And now it appears that inlaws are due in town in 3 weeks and I have to, well, I think burn down the house and rebuild it might be the best option…I can do that in 3 weeks, right? ---

Speaking of naming kids, the manager of our department is named Potts. I think he should name one of his kids (his wife is having twins) after Dick van Dyke’s character in _Chitty Chitty Bang Bang_: Caracticus. I tried to get my sister to name my nephew Amadeus or Dionysus. She wouldn’t go for it. ---

Just because I’m so incredibly dense, that’s **El Torito** at 19:00, right? 405 S. to Rosecrans. Turn west and make a left on Aviation. Turn left on PCH and right on Torrance. Right? I’ll see how the 405 traffic is. If it’s too fast I’ll probably take Sepulveda to PCH, since the Willys isn’t exactly a freeway machine. ---

Well, that’s cutting off your nose to spite your face. C’mon - my very first Dopefest was after I called **Shayna** an out-and-out bitch in The Pit under not-so-nice circumstances. In the end, I found her to be fun and saucy, and certainly don’t hold any onus against her (and I hope she feels the same way). Now I’m looking forward to seeing her again. There are lots of people we disagree with on the boards, but I can think of only one person I’d never want to meet in real life, and even then, I wouldn’t not go to meet other people. Really - I think we can all be adults here.
