Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley in areas with many Asian immigrants, it was nice to see Asian-American anchors on TV. In the early 80s, I preferred Connie Chung since I watched KNXT/KCBS news more often. Then she left to do network news for NBC. In turn, Tritia Toyota went from local KNBC to KCBS, so I watched her more. Looking at recent pics of both of them, they have both kept their attractive looks. 🆒 ---

I know that song by The Dickies. I never knew that Tricia Toyota was a real person. It totally sounded like a made-up name to me. (You learn something new every day. I better log off the SDMB today, lest I exceed my quota!) ---
