Be careful what you wish for. If the moderators enforced a higher standard of posting behavior, I believe the first to fall prey to such “raising the bar” would be a small number of pro-Trump posters whose typical contributions are barely this side of trolling. ---

What ruling by the mods began this thread? Also, when you said, “I found his tactic perfectly acceptable,” I didn’t realize that was based on recent mod rulings. Would the phrase, “I now find his tactic perfectly acceptable,” be more accurate. Back in 2003 it seemed like you found attributing Hillary Clinton’s words to, “The President,” to be deserving of criticism, but now you seem to be saying that based on recent mod rulings you found that to be perfectly acceptable… back in 2003.
