I guess because Brian is ultimately more important in the Stones universe than Bill, Mick T., and Ronnie put together. Still, I think that if you’ve got to shave the Stones down to a foursome, to me it would make more sense to use the four guys who currently appear on their CD covers and promo photos. ---

Hardest choices for me in the first round were: Jumpin’ Jack Flash vs Moonlight Mile: “MM” is one of my favorite songs - if it were up against anything other than “JJF” I’d vote for it in a heartbeart! Sister Morphine vs Live With Me: Ry Cooder’s snaky bottleneck vs. “My best friend he shoots water rats and feeds them to his geese!” Tough, tough choice! I think it’s Keith’s bass on that song that tilts the balance. Dead Flowers vs Mother’s Little Helper: “I’ll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon” vs “Doctor pleeeeeze - some more of theeeeeze!” Time Is on My Side vs Play With Fire: I had this as a 45 when I was in high school. “Time” was the A side; “Fire” was the B side.
