I haven’t read the Santorums’ book that discusses this, but presumably they handled it in a manner that didn’t scar their children for life. I personally find it strange, but I’ve never been in this situation either, so I have no idea how my opinion would change if I became a mother and lost my unborn child. Anyway, as per the OP, Rick kind of reminds me of Ted Bundy. So no, not sexy (and yes, I realize many thought Ted was sexy). ETA: Technically speaking it was a fetus, not a “child.” I used that word though as they expected to carry it to term and obviously thought of it as their child. ---

I think a lot of you are being too hard. If you just saw his picture you’d say he was nice looking. He’s not by any standards ugly, at least physically. He doesn’t look “Republican” enough. You can’t see him out in the field like GW Bush used to do for photo ops. You know clearing the brush. He looks like he’d be at home watching cable TV eating yogurt. And while he’s not ugly, he’s not John Edwards goodlooking ---

But that’s exactly it. He looks so generic and blah, I’m forced to delve into his personality to form an opinion of him and it immediately turns me off. He doesn’t have a visual hook and his mental ones are all targeted at not-Mes. ---

He reminds me a tad of [Professor Quirrell](http://images.wikia.com/harrypotter/images/6/61/Quieir.jpg) or of [Mr. Belding](http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_X9WSMK0f0oc/TK0jBy752DI/AAAAAAAAAeE/Ai5X0beODV8/s320/Mr+Belding.jpg), neither of whom I would notice in a crowded room either as being ugly or hot. He has the type of looks that personality makes or breaks; if you like him you’ll notice his best features and if you dislike him you’ll notice his worst. Since personally I think he’s a barking mad Christofascist steaming heap of santorum I consider him about as hot as Buddy Hackett’s zombie mounting DJ Qualls, but can vaguely see where others mileage would vary enough to make him moderately nauseating. ---
