# Ladies, do you find shaving particularly difficult?

Usually, I’m fine. Today, however, I managed to shave off a bit of one of my fingernails. I’m not quite sure how.

Yes, absolutely! I bought one on a whim, and I just loved it. And although shaving with a bar of soap and a razor aren’t a problem this thing made it so much easier and quicker. I need to get more blades for the thing. I swear, it took half as much time to shave.

I haven’t tried them yet, but they have cucumber/melon scented blades now! I haven’t bought any, because I had a coupon or two a while back, and stocked up on cartridges then. The cartridges seem expensive, but the last a long time, IME.

I don’t find shaving particularly difficult, it’s really just more of a nuisance. Since my skin is sensitive, I usually get those annoying little razor bumps, regardless of the shave gel or blade that I use.

Count me in as another fan. I didn’t really have problems before, but I really do enjoy the Intution razors.

Commercials like that make me crazy, too. For some reason, the Intuition commercial in particular reminded me of that commercial for the pasta pot that has the straining holes in the top. While I think both the pasta pot and the Intuition razors are wonderful ideas, the women in both of those commercials look really inept.
As for shaving - I use a razor & shave lotion, and I’ve never had a problem. However, I can’t shave well if I put the shave lotion on dry legs - I have to do it in the shower or I get bumps.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I love my intuition razor. I don’t use it to shave my knees because they’re too boney and I don’t use it to shave my bikini area and below because I shave in a few intricate areas and prefer my Gilette Mach 3 Turbo for that!! Usually one intuition cartridge will last me about a week to 10 days which isn’t bad IMO. The conditioning bar usually runs out before the razor gets dull and then I’ll just use shaving creme with it.
The only time I’ve ever found shaving to be difficult is when I was pregnant. During months 7-9 shaving took a _long_ time and I had to get in some pretty funky positions to get it all done… but I did it! I have August and September babies so I was always wearing shorts or dresses and had to shave! Too bad the intuition wasn’t around then.

I use a Gillette Venus and whatever shower gel we currently have about the place with a puff. Using a shower puff exfoliates your skin, and gets a nice lather with any kind of soap-type product.
I use the blades until they physically WILL NOT shave anymore, usually about a month or so. I have dark hair and mediterranean skin, so I don’t get cuts, ingrown hairs or rashes, even shaving everyday with a blunt blade.
The Intuition razor would be a giant waste of money for me, as would waxing (I’d have stubble within 2 days, never mind waiting 6 weeks before the next wax).

I absolutely hate shaving, and have reeeaaally sensitive skin, so it’s a major pain (and really, wet soapy hands, razors, and 6 AM are just a BAD combination), but…man. Those commercials make me look downright dexterious.

Ummmm, that particular item, idiot demonstrators aside, looks like a very handy (no pun intended) item. I’m not clumsy, but certain positions do cause my old decrepit hands to ache, such as blow drying with one hand, and trying to curl under iwth the other.
It’s not so much the items being advertised, it’s the WAY they’re advertised. imho

Seriously, my stubble grows back so fast it’s sick. During the summer, I have to shave nearly every day. I normally use the girly shave gels, not because they’re better, but because they smell so good.
I haven’t tried the Intuition razor yet, but it seems to be getting decent Doper reviews, despite its retarded ad. Maybe I’ll splurge next week and give it a go.

**Drachillix** can testify that I am not the most physically coordinated/most exquisitely balanced female…okay, I’m a klutz.
But seat me in a tub full of bubbles and I can certainly shave my legs. I know better than to attempt to percariously balance myself against the bathroom sink…balance isn’t my thing and gravity is a harsh mistress. The afore-mentioned commercial has not prompted me to purchase their razor: seated in a bathtub with fragrant liquid soap and just about any new razor and I can do the job quite to my satisfaction.

That commercial’s nonsense. I’ve even stopped using shaving cream. It may not result in a very close shave, but it’s not like my legs will be closely examined anyway.

I don’t shave my legs regularly anymore since I’ve discovered the power of wax but I still have a Mach 3 (and man’s shaving gel) for my armpits (I can’t bring myself to wax that area). The Intuition commercial definitely makes me laugh though given that I came home one night from a 1L end of semester bacchanal extremely drunk and took it into my head to shave off all of my pubic hair and I still didn’t nick anything. Next day I woke up and saw what I had done and screamed because I didn’t remember doing it (was that drunk). Then I found a half-scrawled drunken note to myself not to worry.

After a night of debauchery, ou had the coherancy to write a note to yourself, explaing to your future self the actions of your present self so your soon-to-be-now-present furture self would not get upset with your now soon-to-be past present self? And your past self did all this without injuring yourself (with the razor, I mean)?
Call me impressed. If I had a hat on, I’d take it off to you. (Course I’d have to take it off myself to scratch my head and make sure what I just wrote made sense.)

I’m glad to see all the positive reviews for the razor. My teenaged daughter _finally_ brought up the idea of leg- and underarm-shaving, but she doesn’t know how to begin and she’s not the type who takes instruction from her mother well. I bought an Intuition razor for her just because it did seem like it might be easier for a novice to use than the standard kind, but I’ve been afraid to present it to her, after all the time we’ve spent mocking the ads.

Reading all these “I don’t even use soap” posts is making my legs itch and break out.
I used soap for the longest time, and was always itchy. My discovery that shaving cream was, in fact, better than just soap was a blessed day in my life. And even then, I only shave in the summer, and wear jeans for as long as I can. I hate shaving.
But I’ve never squirted myself in the face with the shaving cream.
I think I’m going to have to get myself one of these, though, from what I’m reading here.

I agree that the ad is absurd.
However, I _LOOOOOVE_ the razor - I got one as a free sample in my role as “Cosmetician Extraordanaire!” Ahem.
Anyhow - it’s swell - I traded in my Venus for it.

I detest those men’s shaving commercials because they are blatant false advertisement- I have been shaving for 3 years and no amount of dragging sharp blades across my face with funny-smelling goo has caused women to smile at me or caress my face! :mad:
I hate shaving, because I have what I like to call a ‘pseudo-beard’. That is, I have facial hair, but not enough to really be considered a beard. If I don’t shave, then my face looks dirty ☹ Seriously, I don’t even have enough to grow a goatee. But my skin is sensitive, and only recently have I been able to shave comfortably by using facial cleanser first, then shaving gel, then the Mach 3 (all this must be done in the shower, my face needs to be ‘prepped’ with hot water for several minutes otherwise its zit city the next day ☹ )
So in my case, letting it grow out is not an option because I don’t have enough facial hair to pass off for a beard. But its not sparse enough to not need to shave, either ☹
