Not that the women I’ve been with are representative of the general female population, but out of, let’s say, 25 serious girlfriends and hook-ups in my single days, a grand total of 2 asked me to spank them during sex. One liked to play “I’ve been bad, punish me” games, the other just used to scream out “spank me! smack my ass!” during doggie. So 8% of my former sex partners liked it. YMMV. ---

I’ve actually used it as a “real” punishment when I was the spanker. Meaning, our scenario was something he had actually done which was kind of naughty but not a real, deep issue in our marriage. ---

I don’t want some Freudian person telling me that I chose my husband because he was a replacement for my father, etc. So for ME, I don’t want anything having to do with sex to remind me of my dad. No. And I’d be fairly annoyed if the other person did it without asking–it’d probably kill whatever mood there was. Ditto hair-pulling to a lesser extent, though I guess I’d be more likely to tolerate that. So. . .not only am I not into it, but it would really _bother_ me. Of course, one would assume that any such issues would have been brought up prior to the circumstances where it could actually happen. . .you know, happening. And, as I’m without-involvement-by-choice ATM, it’s really more an academic question. ---

The more I composed my thoughts, the further from the point they got, so I decided not to bother with a whole new thread. I will, though, spoiler my take on spanking and how it’s used at my house so as to minimize the disruption to **Winston Smith** ’s thread. [spoiler]I’m Daddy, and my girlfriend is my babygirl. This is a D/s thing and really goes beyond the question at hand, so I’ll only add to it to say that people who are not in D/s relationships sometimes just have to take the word of those who are that they are happy and fulfilling. My babygirl knows that I don’t _enjoy_ spanking her, but she also knows that I’ll do it in a heartbeat if she earns it. I always make her tell me _why_ I’m spanking her to make sure she understands what she is being punished for. Usually, a spanking happens in private and consists of 3-5 swats to her bare bottom. the smacking, the hair pulling - sometimes it’s the rush of adrenaline and unexpected sensation during the act of sex. As for actual “spanking” - in regards to a Daddy/baby girl relationship like we’re in - I would say that’s more of a roleplaying thing. And the psychology of that is definitely not part of the OP - so I will respect that and just say that for me “spanking” is not part of sex for me, but part of my relationship.
