The thing about the telegraphed pictures with all the colors of nature was pretty good though.

I was surprised it said that even then photographs were being telegraphed short distances. Was that really being done as early as 1900?

Maybe they assumed we would release an animal from the menagerie and then go hunt it.

Maybe the thought was that men would stand around a cage of birds and blast at them with shotguns. Obviously, a fantasy that will never come true.
