Hello, nice to meet you. I never wanted kids, even when I was young. I got pregnant despite birth control, and had a child anyway. My husband wanted kids. He would have been happier if we’d had more than one child.

I had a tubal as soon as I could talk a doc into it, and I just recently had a hysterectomy. What a relief!

Who’s Al? 😉

I’m 28, married, & have a good career. I really want children and would not have married my husband if he did not want them. I would have married him anyway if he _couldn’t_ have children but was willing to go some other route (and since we haven’t started trying to have kids, it’s possible that one of us isn’t “working properly”…who knows?). Having or not having children is such a big part of one’s life, though, that if you don’t both agree on it, you shouldn’t be together. We started discussing our views on the subject (among many others) fairly early in our relationship, so by the time we were dating seriously, we were sure we had compatible views on the big subjects.

Gee, why can I hear the comic book guy from the Simpsons in my head…“best vasectomy EVER!”

Magic–swing by alt.support.childfree and ask for directions to their singles connection. Great group of people (mostly) though they get impatient and whine a lot because they’re constantly inundated by trolls telling them how terrible they are for not wanting kids and not liking other people’s children, etc.

Oh Doreen, thank doG. I would have witnessed for you! I’ll do it right now if you want~

Nicki: "a vascectomy is not irreversible, and _it_ can actually grow back. my dad got a vascectomy after the 4th
child was born, but 7 years later, oops! mom’s preg-o again! "

Vasectomies are intended to be non-reversable. If anyone has interest in the subject, USENET over to alt.vasectomy for more info.

An annual spunk test to check for swimmers, post V, would seem a prudent thing to do.
