Yup. I had a strange obsession with the idea after seeing Aliens 3 too many times. (3? 4? Oh, whatever one Ripley’s bald in!) The money would just be an excuse 😉 ---

I once paid a guy 5 Rand (equivalent to about 0.5 USD) to shave only the front part of his hair off. This guy had long (about a foot and a half) red hair. Imagine drawing a line from one ear to the other along the top of your head. I shaved his hair from that line forwards. He kept that hair style for quite a while. I think he quite enjoyed it. After I shaved his hair, he asked me if it made him look hardcore (he was into old kung fu movies). Thats when I started to feel guilty. ---

God, I’m Indian, and could technically get away with a swastika - it was ours first before those horrid bastards appropriated it - and I still wouldn’t do it here. Now that’s real repercussions. Hell in the 80s my mother got a pair of swastika earrings from India which she returned. Even my mother knew, you do not wear that shit here. As compared to India - we put the swastika in giant red paint on a new car (comes off at the first wash). It just means different things there. ---

I’m not a lady, and I’ve been bald for decades, so the question is not for me. But the answers in this thread are entirely what I expected. “Would you shave a swastika into your head for $1,000,000?” Now, that’s a more provocative hypothetical. If there were a provision that I’d have to display it in public, I think I’d decline. There are some things you just can’t recover from, socially. But if I could hide out in seclusion and/or cover it with hats until it grew out, then, sure, why not? ---

Unfortunately, hardly anyone – including the skinheads – knows where it originated as a symbol. To get on topic, as I’ve mentioned before, _DesertRoomie_ hasn’t cut her hair since she was 17 when she got out of her mother’s clutches so, as the song says, “it stopped by itself.” A million? There are these things called “wigs”, that make it look like you have hair, even if you don’t. I think you can get one for a lot less than a million dollars. ---

This is boggling. These women are getting what they think of as some kind of prestige in saying “I wouldn’t shave my head for a million dollars!”, whether it’s self-affirmation of their hair’s attractiveness, exhibiting that a million dollars isn’t life-changing enough a figure to disrupt their lifestyle, or a combination of both. They know the offer’s not real so it costs nothing to reject it. But put the cash and hair clippers on a table in front of them, and I’d be surprised if they didn’t have a fight over who would get to do it. Unless of course she works with millionaire heiresses or spouses working in an ordinary office job to pass the time or something. ---

I can’t believe some women said no either. I doubt they would if the money was really there on the table. The amount is so out of proportion to the task. The interesting thing would be to do a progression. See how much it would take for people to shave their heads. (Possible opportunity for fetishist website here. You might actually get bidders.) Alternatively, you could see what people would be willing to do for a million dollars. (Possible opportunity for a very lucrative, but niche market, website.) ---
