I got to pet a sedated lion, and a sedated lynx at a zoo a friend was volunteering at [they were in for teeth cleaning and a general check up] Vet assistants can get the best opportunities. And mrAru’s father has pictures of himself wrestling with his friends Bengal tiger GT. Stu rented animals to be filmed. A few of his animals ended up being [Cal Worthington’s Dog Spot](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cal_Worthington#.22My_Dog_Spot.22_ads) 😛 ---

My wife and I once visited a roadside zoo on a day when it was pouring rain (basically, I needed to use their restroom), and one of the keepers gave us a personal tour, since there were no other guests. At one point, she looked at me conspiratorially and says, “Would you like to meet the tiger cub?” Well, who wouldn’t? So she unlocked an enclosure, led us in, and there’s a tiger cub, maybe not quite the size of a German Shepherd. She started petting it and telling us what a sweetheart he is, and then she asked, “Would you like to hold him?” Before I had a chance to think that through, she picked up the cub and shoved him into my arms. He was soft and plush like you’d expect. He looked at me, I looked at him, and then he decided that he liked what he saw. He put his paws on both sides of my head, leaned up, and kissed me. It was, shall we say, thrilling in a certain way, but probably not something I’d want to chance twice. The keeper was touched: “Aww, he likes you.” God help me if he didn’t, of course. ---
