I bought a case of Pampers baby wipes the other day at BJ’s, and included was a free small plastic portable baby wipe holder, that fits nicely in the diaper bag. What’s so exciting, is I had one of these for about a year, but my two year old broke the lid so it wouldn’t stay shut properly. When Mr. Elf opened the case and found the new one, we both danced around the living room singing, “We got a new wipes case, we got a new wipes case!” Yes, we’re 34 and 35, and incredibly lame. ---

I’m amazed noone’s mentioned…that the Straight Dope is now usable all the time! No more crazy slowdowns, 2 minute page load times etc. Perhaps that’s not a “lame thing”, though. ---

**Typo** , I’m even lamer than you (more lame than you?), since I don’t even do the coding. I’m taking a class in digital art and making my first animations ever in Flash (or anything else). I can sit there and watch the square change into the ball and the fishy swim along the path I charted for it over and over and over, chortling. That’s me chortling, not the fishy. ---

Termites. I totally geek on termites. **That’s** lame. On the other hand, I really also dig playing the tympani in my church’s musical ensemble. And when I’m right in tune, and anticipating the director, and it all comes together…oh wow. ---

Usually the milk goes in the upper deck of the fridge. When I got home a couple of days ago, I looked in and saw I was low. Darn! It was too late to hit the grocery store. Well, breakfast will have to be milkless tomorrow morning. So, I walk in the kitchen the next morning and it suddenly occurs to me I’ve got fresh new milk in the lower storage thingy in the door! Didn’t remember putting it there! Woohoo!!! I can have LIFE cereal with my bananas…with MILK!! God bless us each and every one! ---

Well, I paid all my bills just a couple of hours ago… even that newspaper subscription one which I thought I’d need to go to the bank for! Woohoo! (of course, this now means I’m now closer to broke than ever before…) On the weekend, I get to see a bunch of my friends, the kids (hopefully, Carlie won’t call me a piece of poo again), and my brother! Yay! My sister is coming home on the 17[sup]th[/sup], and despite myself, I’m excited. Don’t know why… but I know her friends are excited. My friends Sophia and John are getting married in three weeks! Now that is definitely exciting! Maybe not lame, but it’s cool… Last weekend, on of my good ICQ friends gave me his real name / address / phone number… I’m excited about that for some reason, even though I’ll probably not use the latter two pieces of info. Yes, my life is full of mundane things to get strangely excited about… F\_X ---

I’ve discovered that if I store my soda on the top shelf of the fridge in our office, right under the useless tiny freezer box, it gets really cold. I mean, gloriously cold. Cold enough that you take a swallow of it, and it feels cold all the way down, and you just say to yourself, “GaaaawdDAMN that’s good ‘n’ cold.” Cold enough that when you open it, the adiabatic cooling of the carbon dioxide escaping the bottle causes little tiny ice crystals to form. That’s living, baby. ---

My employer had an Open House to promote this big project on which we have been working. The snow we had cut the attendance drastically. There was a huge chunk of brie left. The entire staff had lunch on the leftover brie today, with enough still remaining for tomorrow also. mmmmmm-brie. ---

I love my stapler. I work in an office and I brought my vintage Ace Cadet [302](http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=739832314) Mine is the more rare and desirable tortoiseshell Bakelite top and I’ve seen them go for as much as sixty bucks.! I will NEVER sell it! It is smooth, reliable, never binds, or criknles the staple, and feels perfect in the hand. I look at Myron in “Office Space” as a kindred spirit when I see him valiantly trying to protect his beloved stapler. I love my stapler. ---

I actually get a little thrill when I’m making Campbell’s Tomato Soup and the contents of the can all come out in one gelatinous piece, instead of having to scrape it out with a spoon. What can I say? Simple things amuse simple minds! ---
