**Bit O’ Honey** definitely sucked the proverbial left donkey ball. Of course, I _still_ ate them, since it’s against the kid ethical code not to eat all of the candy. I had no qualms about throwing out raisins though.

The best? Mini-bars are good, but **fistfulls of full sized candy bars** are better! One year I got this at the Rockefellers house in D.C. They had this butler standing outside the gates with buckets of 3 Musketeers. I really cleaned up that year.

All this candy talk is giving me a flashback to some Christmas toffees my Aunt gave me one year, by far the most vile “confection” ever created. I made my best friend try one and laughed my ass off when he spit it out. Damn I wish I could remember what those were.

Motorgirl,

Don’t be sad. ☹ If you’d lived in our neighborhood (a solidly middle-class bunch if ever there was one), your mom would’ve been all right with us. Dumdums, while not Tootsie Pops, were still perfectly acceptable fare. And the mini-paks of Sweet Tarts? Definitely popular with me and my friends. Sweet Tarts were primo candy. 😛 Yummmm!

What are “Smarties?” I don’t recall them.

Worst: I have to concur that the Orange and Black Peanut Butter Blobs are gross. Pennies, toothbrushes, and stupid plastic toys (like spider rings) were no fun either. Gimme candy!!!

Best: Hershey’s miniature Special Dark. All chocolate candy bars.

Orca Chow: Smarties are similar to SweeTarts, but are sweeter. They come in a clear cellophane roll twisted on the ends.

Worst: Tootsie Rolls, raisins, any fruit, anything with coconut, Necco Wafers, Whoppers, I would add Circus Peanuts, but my mom Loved the damn things (though we had to let them get stale first) and I could pawn them off on her.

Best: Reese’s peanut butter cups, Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars, and the Special Dark ones, Smarties, Sugar Daddy’s, Peanut M&Ms, Hot Tamales and Red Hots.

I just wish they See’s and Godiva chocolate available for trick or treating.
