Glossy or Matte? Wide or Standard? Touch or non-touch? I prefer a matte, 4:3 or 5:4 non-touchscreen, and I must be the only one, because they are increasingly rare. ---

I’m diggin’ widescreen. Better for videos, better for text editing (show two pages at once). And if there is a keyboard, I have no use for a touchscreen. ---

I love widescreen. No opinion for matte/glossy–I recall the apple folks getting all up in arms when Apple discontinued the matte screen for the MBP, but I never really got it. Glossy maybe looks subjectively a little sharper for some reason, but it’s just not something I care enough about to even consider. I’ll take whatever they give me. And no touchscreen. My laptop’s screen is filthy enough as it is without me putting my grubby paws all over it. 😛 ---

Touch screens seem to be getting more popular. I was at Staples the other day and I think 2/3 of the laptops they had on display were touch screen. I think it has to do with Windows 8 being somewhat designed for that type of interface.
