I don’t think the age difference would be the primary thing most people would find strange about your relationship. If sexual attraction isn’t a factor, then obviously issues like age, appearance, and gender are going to be much less relevant. ---

My wife was 7 yrs older than me. I was 19 and she was 26. We started to have a power struggle by the time I was about 30. She seemed more mature in matters of finance although both of us were very responisble. I grew more emotionaly mature as far as how I handled conflict. I do believe age was one of the factors that eventually led to divorce but more because I probably changed more once I matured.
