Luciano Pavarotti, the opera singer, died at 71. I had him in the death pool.
Alfred Hitchcock lived until 80. His rotund profile was featured at the beginning of his tv show.
Anecdotes are fun, and I have one too. I have 4 aunts on my father’s side. One was fat and loved to cook and eat. The other three were active and thin and ate very little. All lived into their 80s and 90s. (One is still going in her 80s.) The fat aunt lived to be 93. She did drop weight as she got into her advanced years, but I think that happens to most people who live that long. (The mother of these women, incidentally, lived to be 107.)
Genetics are stronger than lifestyle, I suspect. But then again, this is just an anecdote. Datum, not data.
I intend to, but what with being obese, tall and lefthanded…
Well, maybe… except my grandmother was Russian, not Italian!
