Up to you.
I assume the pitcher you’re referring to is Danny Almonte? Use your words, Little_Pig. What are you trying to say?
No, it’s up to you. If I knew what you meant I wouldn’t have had to ask. Were you implying that racism was somehow behind the Little League decision?
If you feel it was, why won’t you just say so?
If you feel it wasn’t, why won’t you say so?
The other two teams that got “bounced” were from the Phillipines and the other was a Puerto Rican/Hispanic team from the Bronx.
“All Black”???
nm
OK, it’s a draw.
Here is a story of an almost all-white team that got bounced for cheating (in this case, it was caught before the LLWS, so they didn’t get to participate at all after winning their state championship on the field). It’s disappointing to me that so many, including many of the parents of the JRW kids, are charging racism. Fortunately, the sample size is too small to judge whether minority teams are more likely to face this sort of punishment, but at least we know that not ALL the teams that have been punished are poor or minority. More importantly, it seems clear that the JRW coaches did knowingly violate the rules, so for them to portray themselves as victims…well, it doesn’t give you much faith that these kids have good adult role models.
The racism charge is asinine. I mean, does Jesse Jackson think that racism has just been boiling within Little League officials over the last 6 months, searching for some excuse to strip those kids of the title?
Right, because they just couldn’t stand how these kids became a big national story and earned heaps of money for their organization (indirectly, by driving up the potential value of future TV contracts).
I’m trying to understand what rule the league broke. Was it that one of the teams in its league had 12 12-year-olds, and each team is only allowed 8? What if there are so many 12-year-olds in that league that they can’t fit just 8 per team and still stick to the other limits?
