# 'Last edited by' field and name change question.

[sub]In case anyone doesn’t know what I’m talking about, when someone edits their post in the 5 minute window, there is a line at the end of their post in a smaller italic font that starts with ‘Last edited by’. I’ll edit this post after posting it to illustrate that.[/sub]
When someone gets their user name changed, does the ‘last edited’ line reflect the name-change, or does it have the original name?
I’m reading an old, many-pages thread, and I saw an edited post by someone I _thought_ had changed their user-name since that thread was active, but I am _not_ going to go back and read the last 6 pages of it again to see if that’s the case. It got me curious about how the software works, so I figured I would ask a passing Mod (or Admin, if Mods can’t do it) to try it and see what happens. I’ll ‘edit’ this post immediately after posting, to give you something to work with. Change my user-name, look at this post to see if the ‘last edited by \’ changes, then change my user-name back. Then tell us what happens.
[sub]ETA: ‘change for change’s sake’… and I fucked up the coding when adding this line, so now it has [del]_ **two** _[/del] _ **three** _ edits.[/sub]
