Library volunteer here: 99% plus of the DVDs, or any other media, donated to our library does not end up in the circulating collection. If it’s suitable to put out for sale, we do that and convert them to cash, to pay for things that aren’t otherwise in the library’s budget.

Don’t forget about interlibrary loan, either.

What I’m hearing is that I could pay for a device that would allow me to pay for movies.

As opposed to my current system of borrowing them from the library for free.

You’re the one who suggested that it would be difficult to connect your TV to a streaming service so various people pointed out that it would not be at all difficult.

You can get a Chromecast or Amazon Fire for like $20
