Rex Allen died at his home in Tucson late last week after being accidentally run over in his driveway.

I _know_ there is a big “huh?” factor here. Rex Allen, with Koko the wonder horse, was one of the last of the singing cowboys. A real cowby from Wilcox Arizona, he started his movie career about the same time Gene Autrey and Roy Rogers were leaving movies for TV. He did a pile of cowboy pics for republic and narration for as many as eighty nature films for Disney studios.

Oh, _that_ Rex Allen. Gee, what a shame. I really liked those nature films.

Where are we going and what am I doing in this handbasket?
