I signed an antiwar petition back in the Vietnam War era, so there could be a microscopic F.B.I. file on me. It’s not worth the cost of filing a lawsuit to see. But I still get slightly apprehensive when I see strange vehicles parked or idling near my house. 😬 ---

It seems obvious to me. Everyone knew that Rock 'N Roll was both unholy, subversive, and Communist, right up there with Dr. King. And don’t forget that most closeted Communist of all, Senator Joseph McCarthy. ---

The old joke was that the attempt to find out if the FBI had a file on you was enough reason for them to start a file on you. ---

That wasn’t a joke. During the Cold War, Soviet agents would file FOIA requests to see what the government knew about them. So the FBI would generate a new file on people who filed requests. ---

I studied Russian in college, and someone said that automatically meant an FBI file was opened on me. ---

I read something today that one of the FBI’s concerns was _Last Train to Clarksville_ because of its reference to going off to (the Vietnam?) war and perhaps never coming home. I always thought there was something deeply subversive and Commie about _Danny Boy_ ---

As did I, and while I’m pretty sure there is no FBI file on me (I’m in Canada), I _know_ that there is an RCMP file on me. Let’s face it, when the Mounties come knocking on my professors’ and neighbours’ doors asking about you, they’re going to build a file on you. Forty years later, I would hope that it has been destroyed. But who knows? ---

It would be interesting to read the FBI file on Elvis. He served in the Military and did his job well. He didn’t spend his hitch entertaining. He received honorary police badges for his support of LE. There was all the drug use and people around him may have been sketchy. Elvis liked teen girls. Would the FBI file be positive or negative? ---
