**nellie** , they were proper mint juleps made with 12 year old bourbon and mint fresh from SIL’s little sister’s garden. Miss Beth always decorated an outrageous hat. 🙂 It was windy when I sat on the patio reading this afternoon, so I cranked the umbrella down. I began to hear sirens before coming in to fix supper. I got the sesame oil in the wok, had the cast iron skillet out for the poke steak, the garlic chopped, the ginger grated and the bok choy cleaned when the power went out. It flickered a couple of times and I thought it would come back on, but, nooooooooo. It just returned a few minutes ago. I’ve been around to reset clocks and turn the wifi back on. Instead of a pan grilled poke steak and ginger-sesame bok choy, I had crackers, cheese, celery and a mandarin for supper. ☹ At least I know what’s on the menu for tomorrow evening. 😛 ---

The flood in the living room a few years ago wasn’t anyone’s fault, **dogbutler** , just random bad luck (and it was different people then). The initial minor drips noted last week in the front bathroom, same deal, stuff happens. This morning’s SPLASH was definitely upstairs neighbors being dumb, though. They have two bathrooms, it is not mandatory for them to use the one known to have problems. Hopefully, my temper with them holds until plumbing is repaired on Tuesday. I’m OK with Tuesday, BTW, since both involved apartments are still habitable, with functioning plumbing, and I can easily imagine more urgent repairs needed in other parts of the complex. Since the dripping just resumed (at low quantity/volume), I’m wondering if the one identified-bad solder join is the only problem or if those upstairs are being dumb again. ---
