Um…no. It’s not funny. I’m disgusted at Brutus. I’m saying that it’s absurd to wish the fucking DEATH PENALTY, RAPE, or TORTURE on people who have committed crimes. ---

I don’t know **Brutus** ’ posting style or opinions, but I do know I often make similar statements. They’re called _over-the-top_. When I wish torture, death and dismemberment on stupid people whose names are not D\_Odds, lawyers, telemarketers, penny-stock salesmen, marketing executives and politicians (yes, there is overlap in the list), it is not meant to be taken literally. YMMV ---

It merits some sort of serious fucking punishment. Not death of course, but I would like to see some sort of “victims/travelers compensation” clause in the law. There have been times when a cancelled/seriously late flight has cost me/my company more than $10,000 easy. And who exactly would I go to for compensation? Una ---

**Anthracite** , I would assume you could sue the guy in civil court and get awarded damages but the guy is such a loser you’d probably never recover a single dollar. ---

I think his punishment ought to be serious enough to get the message across that if you call in a fake bomb threat, it’ll mess up your life. OTOH, this guy should get less prison time than the bigwigs at Enron get, given the far greater number of people they screwed, and you know they’re not going to get any 10 or 20 years. I’d say a year or three in Federal prison would suffice, but that’s JMHO. ---

Pretty simple really. If you fuck up driving too many times or in too serious of a manner, they take away your license to drive. Why shouldn’t the same apply here, imposed either by the legal or commercial entities. Never let the fucker fly again. Let the courts an him from ever flying on any airline or at least let the airline he screwed ban him themselves. Reimbursement and punishment are additional matters but I think that at the very minimum a lifetime flying ban should be imposed on him. ---

On to the misfit fartpickle who called in the bomb threat. Give him to brutus for a while, if he thinks he’s got the answers, let him mete out the death penalty for an prank (albeit serious) phone call. The thing that kills me about the bomb-calling passenger is that not only do you have to be stupid to pull something like this, you have to be _extra_ stupid to get _caught._ According to the article in the OP, the counter agents thought the guy was “acting suspiciously,” and that’s all. It isn’t as if he went up to the desk, asked if the plane was coming back, and pumped his fist “yes!” at the news. I mean, Christ, at least have the brain cells to finish the performance: Run up to the counter, breathlessly ask if the plane’s gone, start asking about alternatives, and feign shock and fear when you hear about the bomb threat. What a friggin’ maroon. 'Course, he probably used his home phone to make the call, too… ---

It’s expensive, and you need to really want to stick it to them to make it worth your while. What I want is a summary judgement clause such that after the criminal court finds them guilty, it adds a criminal penalty and awards said penalty to me. Not going to happen, I know, but I sure wish it was possible. ---
